SS: Dragonfruit
Sleuth Smarts Sunday.
This Dragonfruit totally stole my lunch show today!
I've been eyeing the neon beauty at Erewhon for weeks now 👀, and at 2pm it finally called my name. I've actually never tried it before, even in the 3 years I was fruitarian.
I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me fast! If rainbows had a flavor, this would be it;). And not only are they high in Vitamin C and antioxidants like most fruits are, but I found out some more detailed fun facts too:
SS FUN FACTS:
The crunchy black seeds of dragon fruit carry an antioxidant phytochemical compound called phytoalbumin. Phytoalbumin is thought to improve appetite, and is good for skin/hair health too.
The red flesh type pithaya contains high levels of vitamin-A, and carotenes. Consumption of natural fruits rich in carotenes is known to protect from lung and oral cavity cancers.
It contains a good amount of minerals; one being magnesium, which helps keep bones strong.
…Now that's more than enough reasons to taste this eye catching fruit.
