True Health Truly Takes a Village
This was my view the day after I rolled my ankle and wasn't able to walk.
But when I first hurt myself, I felt all of my old gymnastics days coming back. The 'No Pain No Gain' days where it was frowned upon to get injured. That old story reared its ugly head hard, and I didn't want to tell anyone that I had hurt myself. In fact, I was terrified.
But luckily I've learned to challenge fear and trust my instincts and let people in. So I called my friend @schoolinhomestyle and told her what was going on.
And I couldn't even have imagined all the support that came flooding in! Trips to get arnica gel and ankle braces for me, grocery shops on my behalf, and surprise visits like this one.
I mean look at this picture!! When my man, @schoolinhomestyle and her kids, and @goldenedg all came into my room to take care of me, I was blown away. They made ice buckets and put together my crutches and made me laugh through the pain.
All because I was willing to challenge what I had learned in the past, and take the risk to find something new. Instead of hiding in embarrassment all alone, I connected and got an entire room full of people.
True health truly takes a village.
