PICC Line Adventures Part III
This is the arm where my PICC line used to be. Did you say USED TO be? ;)...yes, I did!
I was supposed to have the tube in for five months total to help me get my lyme medications. But I ended up having to take it out earlier than expected, and only had it in for six weeks!
My doctor was confused when I called and said it had just stopped working. I couldn’t get my IV antibiotics through. I felt scared and disappointed. Had I done the surgery for nothing?! They’d never seen this happen before. I asked for an immediate visit, and 30 minutes later, he was pulling the line out of my arm in disbelief.
With one quick jerk, my plans for the next three and a half months seemingly changed in an instant. Total curveball. But as it turns out, we found a way for me to still do the rest of the original protocol! AND now I get to wash dishes, exercise, and go in water again. (Things I wasn’t able to do with the PICC line in) Paddle boarding...here I come!
It’s wild how twisty turn-y the health journey can be. Things don’t go like I think they are going to. But even though it’s always unexpected, the Universe is always conspiring in my favor. ;) And has better plans and better timing than I could ever imagine
